How do I know what size to buy?

RING SIZING

If you do not know your ring size, I recommend having your finger sized by a local jeweler. If you are unable to be sized by a local jeweler I offer accurate adjustable ring sizers for purchase here.

Your ring should fit your finger comfortably. You want it to be snug enough so it doesn't fall off, but loose enough to go over your knuckles without extra effort or pain.

Remember, temperature is very important! Our fingers naturally swell and shrink when our body temperature changes as well as seasonally. Don’t measure your ring size when your body temperature is either too cold or too hot. This can cause an inaccurate reading. I recommend measuring when your fingers are at room temperature.

Wide Bands

Some of my designs have what is considered a wide band. A wider band typically needs a bigger size. Depending on your finger shape, wide bands can fit more snug than single, more narrow bands. I recommend going ½-1 full size up if you are considering purchasing a wide band ring. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

RESIZING RINGS

Some of my ring designs can be sized up, typically one full size only. Sizing a ring down usually requires stones to be removed prior to any soldering. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer sizing down on rings.

If you have any questions about sizing, please don't hesitate to send me a message. Jewelry should be comfortable to wear and I don’t want you wearing ill fitting jewelry.

Jewelry Care

Jewelry care is very important and is the responsibilty of the buyer. How a piece is treated and cared for will impact its longevity. Proper care and handling will ensure that a piece of jewelry will stand the test of time.

Tips

Helpful tips to keep your jewelry looking fresh and shiny!

  • Please, no swimming! Chlorinated pools will damage your jewels, whether it's the stone and/or the metal. Any harsh chemical can react with stones especially porous ones (for example: Turquoise). This can lead to discoloration of your gem.

  • Please remove your jewelry before bathing or swimming in lakes, rivers, and especially oceans. Most stones do not like being submerged in water for long periods of time. Most water contains some type of unknown minerals and chemicals that can leave residue and cause metal and stone discoloration.

  • Please remove your jewels before any strenuous activity. Be mindful of your activities while wearing your jewelry. A bump here or there could lead to a cracked stone, a bent ring band, and nobody wants that!

  • It is VERY important to be aware that many perfumes, body oils(coconut, jojoba, ect.) and lotions contain fragrances and other chemicals that can cause harm and gunk up your jewels.

  • The one and only exception to the "no body oil" on your jewelry rule is for Sea Glass. If you purchase a sea glass piece from me I recommend that you condition your sea glass with coconut oil every couple months to keep the color vibrant. Since sea glass is naturally frosted from its time being tumbled in the ocean, the oil helps bring out the natural color of the glass.

Cleaning

  • Practice caution when using ultrasonic cleaning. Not all stones can withstand it.

  • For at home maintenance cleaning I recommend using mild soap and a soft toothbrush under warm water and dry with a soft towel.

  • Avoid cream-based cleaners, use a jewelry-grade polishing cloth instead. I recommend sunshine polishing cloths and are available for purchase here

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes, which produces tarnish. With just a quick light rub, these polishing clothes work great to keep your jewelry shiny and tarnish free!
